COOKIES & BROWSER STORAGE

Cookie policy.

The website’s code does not set cookies. It does use browser storage for public GitHub activity.

Last updated: 20 September 2026.

No advertising or analytics cookies. The local cache holds repository information, not a visitor ID, search history or advertising profile.

What the website stores.

The home and updates pages use a local storage entry named aurora:github:v1. It contains public repository statistics, recent commits and contributor details, release information, and refresh or retry times.

This cache reduces repeat GitHub requests and lets the site show the last available data during an outage. Local storage stays in your browser and is not automatically sent to the website host like a cookie. The site does not upload this cache.

How long it stays.

Data is considered fresh for ten minutes. The site can keep older results as a fallback, so ten minutes is a refresh interval, not a deletion deadline. The entry remains until the site replaces it, you clear it or your browser removes it.

Clear or block storage.

Open your browser’s site settings for this website and clear its site data. You can also block site storage in browsers that support it. The website continues to work without persistent storage, but live statistics may load more slowly or reach GitHub’s request limit sooner.

Tone controls, theme previews, tag examples and feature searches do not create saved preferences. Your browser may separately cache page files, fonts and images to speed up loading.

GitHub and hosting services.

Live statistics and contributor images make connections to GitHub. Links for downloads, issues and contributions take you to GitHub, where its own cookies and privacy rules apply. Porkbun hosts this website and may apply delivery or security measures separately from the site’s code.

See the privacy policy for external requests and data handling.
